I expect when the shit hits the fan we will all be loaded into cattle cars as a field expedient extraction and taken to a government facility where they will care for us and keep us safe. I welcome the train ride because I have great faith in our leaders You should too!

Don't forget the free showers. You get awfully dirty on the train ride, ya know.
As for me, I'll retire to my secret lair inside of a hollowed out volcano.

I don't need no plan. I live back in the woods, its just the woman and the kids and the dogs and me. I've got a shotgun, rifle, and a four wheel drive.
You mean from my Dallas place of residence to the airplane hanger? I guess I would walk. It would be maybe 1-2 hours by foot.
There is one road into my hold up spot, and it is many miles long with nothing but trees on each side. The peninsula is about an 8th of a mile wide for quite a ways and easily fortified.
Haven't thought too much about this, but this plan has always been in the back of my head.
This got me thinking, how long would our reservoirs last with no supervision? I mean don't people have to regulate water levels, repair the dam etc.? Seems to me they would last a few years/decades then return to their natural state.

My getaway vehicle has 200 extra gallons of fuel so ill make my destination
Following along FATHERFORD's EMP scenario, that extra 200 gal of fuel will get you nowhere. Any vehicle with any electronic control will be dead.
So if you're serious about a bugout vehicle, you need to switch to a carb and points style distributor.

It is possible to build a faraday cage and store additional electrical equipment to install on your vehicle pending an EMP event. Of course, that is if there is only one EMP event.
Best to have an old M35 2-1/2 ton truck. Runs pretty much on anything so fuel shouldn't be that hard to find. Diesel fuel, jet fuel, kerosene, heating oil or gas.
