Parts cost the same, might as well. Especially with a DSG or auto transmission. I'm still amazed by $5k transmissions in economy cars.

I can average low 20's with lots of city and a heavy foot but usually average around 27 with 60/40 city/highway and being a little aggressive. One a short road trip I was in the mid 30's.

        Great looking car man!

          Diesel touraeg ftw!

Setting it on fire would be better than giving it to her

Yeah I was really surprised, if you look at the HP/TQ on paper it's like wtf? But that little bitch was fun as heck.
Im getting about 28 combined, but I drive it like an idiot still. I ran a trip at 70 and it was just over 30.

I've got an '07 6 speed (I couldn't bring myself to get the DSG) and I like it. I will say that having previously owned a 99 jetta, their reliability and quality have dipped a little bit. It's been small things: both headlights have burnt out at 74k, check fuel cap light goes on and off intermittently, CEL will do the same, had to have instrument cluster replaced (under warranty), middle console arm rest is a bit worn (not too bad), driver's side lock tumbler is fucked up, key fob is inoperational.

Nothing really major (yet), but my old 99 had absolutely no issues. Perhaps the new Mk VI's are a bit better, but I'm somewhat skeptical. It feels like ever since VW/Audi has got it in their heads to become the biggest manufacturer, they've been slipping.

I'd still recommend them, all told. They're just fucking fun to drive.

Unlike the Jetta and Beetle, the Golf and GTI are built in Germany. The build quality should be much better.

                  Lamborghini Aventador

Drove one the other day. Seemed pretty nice. Anyone know the general reliability of these things. I mean, I'll never buy one and I'll probably change my mind next week, but just in case. Thanks.

Actually believe it or not, I'm set on a GTI now.

Just gotta find what I should pay for one.

Thanks for the responses guy's, I found my next car.

Oh btw, drove an R32, was blue with DSG. Seemed to ride better and leather was nice, brakes were fantastic, V6 felt slower than the turbo 4, but that's only because of the instant torque of that 4 banger.

The ONLY complaint I have is the ride on the GTI, but honestly what do you expect, so I know it's reasonable. Hard to find this much fun in something under $30,000.

Within the last year or two it's been opinions or carfax requests on (probably more, but that was more than two minutes I wanted to budget):

                            LOL nice man.

I know what ya'll are saying but I am just like that, hard for me to pick when I like a lot of stuff.

Already have the dealer finding me what I want so it's the GTI, but damn that list is sexy.
