  • To those that believe welfare people should be sterilized...

I never knew there was actually such a program.

I never thought people should be sterilized, but there should be some way to prevent pregnancies until people are mentally and financially able to support a child.

Between 1929 and 1974, North Carolina sterilized more than 7,600 individuals in the name of "improving" the state's human stock. By the time the program was halted, the majority of those neutered were young, black, poor women — like Riddick.

So yesterday I was forced into going into Albertsons in Cedar Hill. Not the good one over by Petco but the one kinda between Cedar Hill and DeSoto. We end up behind grandma in a hover round with five kids ranging from proabably three to twelve. You may have guessed by now but yep she busted out the Lone Star card to pay for her mound of groceries. Whats sad is I was'nt mad at her, at least she is trying to raise her daughters kids I guess. I am just sick of the system that keeps letting this happen. I am all for welfare and disabilty reform, drug testing for entitlements and all that good stuff. Oh and for sure if you have a kid and neither the father or the mother have a job then they should be able to implant something into you untill you can prove you are financially secure enough to have another kid. I have worked since I was 15 and paid for everything I own. I made the descision long ago that kids were not for me and I am glad my wife is the same way.

Yes I read the article and sure there are exceptions to every rule. However she did lie and tell them she got pregnant and not raped. I also do not care what race you are, if you can not afford to raise children then you should not have them. It is a never ending cycle. At least if they just cut them off at one they may be able to recover financially and finish school etc. Not these teenage girls that have two to three kids and are just finishing high school and the fathers are no where to be found.

I'm all for requiring the birth control shot to receive benefits. It's temporary... get a job, get off the shot.

This SHOULD be the end of the thread, but knowing some of the people on here, it's probably not.

              Could not agree more.

My wife and are in our 30's and we do not have any children. We both decided to wait until we were financially sound before attempting to bring a child into this world. I know, crazy huh?
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

I'm 32 with a 2yr old. I got a degree and a good job before I had a kid. Meanwhile we have 6 rent houses that are subsidized by Denton County. they all pay 50-100 a month in rent (when and if they pay) and EVERY one of them has a minimum of 3 kids. a couple have 5+.....They are there every time I go to work on the houses and drinkin Bud. I love cleaning toilets for the same people I'm supporting through my taxes!

Simple math...the US Govt is paying them to have more children. They are proliferating at a faster rate than the people that are paying taxes and only having the amount of children that they can afford so naturally, over time, they will out number us and run up the debt to support their laziness.
I say 6-12mos of welfare only. After that, it's work or starve.

I overheard a friend of mines sister that lives on welfare say "hey I am going to get for food stamp money now". This is the way these people think when they get pregnant. It is a sad situation the way leaches think.

edit: Dave this is me agreeing with you.

If you get a check you should be required to submit to work. The streets always need to be swept, there is never a shortage of trash to be picked up, the lawn is not going to mow itself, the weeds still need to be pulled, etc. In my opinion these are services that we have to pay for twice, but they are only being performed once.

If you want to turn your twat in a baby gumball machine that is your business but we are tired of paying for your mistakes. When they turn 16 they should be required to work off their irresponsible parents debt to society.
