Dropped my cell phone in the sink today. Dry time?

How long should I let it dry for? I was thinking 2 days. I would post this in the computer forum but wanted to get some opinions from people with exp.

When it hit the water I felt like the kid in the movie "A Christmas Story". When he lost the lug nuts and said "Oh Fudddddggggggeeeeee. lol.

What kinda phone and how long was it actually in the water? I dropped a brand new MyTouch in my son's bath water last year but snatched it fast enough water didn't make it to important parts.

As soon as the water has evaporated it's dry.

first thing is to take it apart as much as you can. battery cover, battery, anything else that can be easily taken apart

then get a big bowl or a big ziplock bag full of rice and put all the pieces in there

every couple of hours shake the bowl/bag around to mix up the rice and pieces

most people say if you can let it set over night that is best. i would say at least 8 hours though

i have a couple of friends that have put their phone in rice and it's worked.

put it in a bowl of uncooked rice (battery out) leave it at least overnight before trying to turn it back on

It needs to go in a bag of rice immediately if you want it to work.

If you can disassemble it and put it in some uncooked rice overnight - that should dry it out.

Who knows - this might be completely crazy... but I heard rice might help.

I heard if you put the phone disassembled in 10 oz of rice over night it might work

I've heard if you drop it in a bag of rice and cook it for a couple of hours it will work great....never tried it myself so I can't comment on its effectiveness.

I heard if you take it apart and put all the pieces into some brown rice you won't ever see your phone again.

May be crazy, but I think If you put it in rice it will be alrice.
