You are a very fun guy. No.
Should have done more homework on them. Trans suck. LIM gasket sucks. And they handle like complete garbage. Cars suspension was perfect condition but man did that thing suck in the corners.
Cars only saving grace was the super cold AC and the great gas mileage.
When the trans started to shudder and shift hard with another shudder I knew it was time to sell it. Cant believe it took less then 24 hours to sell.Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

And yes, GM cars have the most craptastic interiors around.
So the cars I have lined up to see tomorrow are:
1993 Tarus SHO
94 Firebird Formula
95 Eagle Talon TSi ( I have owned many and they are great cars)
96 Acura TL 2.5 with a brand new motor.Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

The 93' SHO and Eagle Talon are money pits and a 94' Formula LT1 motor isnt easy to get to in those cars. If you're looking for a daily driver, go look at the TL 2.5 first.

SHOs are not money pits. They usually need rod bearings after 120k but thats an easy fix on them and cheap if you do it yourself.
Talon/Eclipse/Lasers are also strong. The 16G turbos last forever and the 4G motor is one of the stoutest available. Sure when you push the boost they can get crank walk and if drag raced a lot the rear ends can blow up but the one I am looking at is still box stock.
Ive had a 94 LT1 Formula and I really liked the car. The Optispark is a bitch and tuneups make me cry but other then that the 700R4 is an excellent trans and the LT1 lasts forever.
I think the first car I am gonna look at though is a 94 SHO. I think I can get it for cheap and fix the small issues it has then flip it for a decient profit.Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

The Sister n law had an Eagle Talon...the timing belt broke and all hell broke loose. A co-worker has an SHO and although the car ran good, he started having electrical issues and ended up selling it because he got tired of dealing with it.
You ever changed the spark plugs on a 93-97 LT1 ???
If not, let me know how it works out for you..

SHO issues are the auto trans, the diff, valve shims, rod bearings and the clutch is a PITA to replace. If I get a SHO I will PROLLY do rod bearings and upper end kit (seals/pump/shims).

Ive had several DSM cars. Like almost ANY OHC car if you break a timing belt you will kill the motor. Dont matter if its a Civic, Corolla, LS400 etc etc.
Thats a shame. Sorry to hear that. You do realize that there is no standard electrical issue with them right? Sure some cars of any kind can have electrical issues but its not a common issue on the SHO.

Re-read my previous post.

I was trying to be helpful, but go ahead and get you an SHO or a TALON, but dont complain if they take a sh_t on you. From the sound of the vehicles you're mentioning, you're not spending too much so if you want quality, go with the Acura TL.... Im sure everyone will agree.
I appreciate the help but it sounds like you were basing some of that advice on a single car of a friends that had some off the wall issue or broke cause it was not maintained.
Now I like the TL and will check it out. Dont know hardly anything about them though. I used to own a 3.5RL and man were parts INSAINE on that thing. Even O2s were over $200 each.
Its like I really like the Lexus SC300 and SC400 and there are plenty within my price range but if anything went wrong I know its gonna be expensive. Hell the UCA is almost $300 each! LOLGood judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

Hell i have had mine for years and at the height of its glory it was 400+whp on the stock shortblock....
i know its better than that damn Regal.....
The other thing (this is gonna sound dumb) is its almost fate I should get one. There was one I saw online and really wanted but the guy was asking a tad too much and the bumper is creased and the drivers seat is torn. I went with the Buick instead and that was a mistake, dont know why I settled for the Buick I bought. Well the car just turned back up for sale from the same guy and is much cheaper then he was asking before. Its low miles and I love the color plus he says everything works.
I am gonna drive it tomorrow and beat the hell out of it to see if I hear any rod noise. If the clutch is still solid and the car runs like advertized then I will get it. If not, I will continue shopping.
I am really thinking about the 94 as well cause I can get it for so cheap. Looking at the pics I can correct most of the paint issues and I can get a replacement drivers seat for cheap enough. If the car is a solid runner then it would be a good investment cause I can make a tidy profit on it and have more money to search for a better car.Good judgment comes from bad decisions and a lot of that comes from bad judgment.

I have torn into them and seen first hand whats what with the LT1 F-bodies and the DSM cars. I have had many friends with SHOs and worked on them plus spoke to many on here and LVC and Stangnet that have had them so I know what to expect.

The Acuras are built way better than an SHO or Talon which is why I mentioned the car. I dont think you'll have any issues with the car as long as it hasnt been ragged out.
