I bought a lot from Bates when he was on Buckingham. I never had a problem with him. But he should have done what he said he would do.

Sounds like he may have tried to pull that piece and ended up damaging it and then ducked you in the hopes you would just go away. Either he has it and damaged it or he never had it. You wouldn't see me telling someone to piss off when he was going to hand me $350 cash for parts I wasn't using.

Never dealt with that location. I did, however, just do business with Bates Cycle #2 in Carrollton. VERY impressive stockpile, friendly, knowledgable, and for what I purchased, was right in line with online pricing. My brother and his Dirtbike friends have been going to Deion for years with no issues. I have no idea if the two are related.
In fact, Deion told me what THREE different Kawi dealers couldn't tell me. I guess they (Kawi dealers) don't like selling parts. That said, I've found who I will be using from here on out.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

Here is a pic that they have on their website:
Im thinking about emailing Craig Vetter, im sure he has seen one before, and may know the name of the manufacturer.
Before you posted I was wondering if it'd be a Vetter, but the one you posted looks different. I did see one that is still made. The company is in Arkansas. Looks similar to the fairings you'd see on old BMW airheads, but kind of has that squared off look up front by the headlight:

Oh, call the guys at the kawi dealer on 35 in desoto/lancaster, just south of 20. Those guys are very much oldschoolers, and are very nice. I went by there yesterday on the way home to see if they could help me out on trying to get the manufacture's name to try and search out one of these fairings.

Thanks for the brews. update
i sent craig Vetter an email to see if he could help I'd this thing. He painted towards a defunct brand that I think looks less like this one than the one Aaron found.
Aside from that, I got a big kick out of the email chain I have going with him. This is a guy who designed and produced all the Vetter fairings, including the windjammer posted above, as well as designing and or producing many of the OEM fairings that were produced, and designed the first accessory fairing for Harley Davidson, a design that we see today on the Road Glide. He basically invented the touring bike.
Pretty cool, I guess.
I sent a nice email to Bates, we shall see tomorrow if he wants my money as much as I want his parts."If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford

Well, I left work early today and picked it all up for a pretty good discount over what he originally quoted over the phone.
He basically threw in the bags for free.
Its all going to need quite a bit of work. I started stripping the fairing, pulled the Clarion am/fm 8 track. And CB combo out, head lamp out, etc.
The downside: it looks like the sides are going to straddle the tank, and cover up Aaron's masterpiece."If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford
