I have a friend that is always pushing it to the last second for movies, flights, etc. When I tell them what time to meet, I add a 30 minute cushion. I am early all the time. Sometimes I'll run three errands before work and still be 20+ minutes early. It takes the pressure off when you're not scrambling around.
Being on time is a choice. You choose to be there or you choose to be late.

Call me old fashioned but if I say I am going to be somewhere at a certain time I am. If for some reason I am running late I call well ahead of time to let the person know. I think it's common courtesy.

I am about 95% reliable on showing up places on time. Well, except for work in the AM. But we have an understanding about that.

The reason I'm asking is a friend of mine (1 hour previous to the meeting time) tells me to meet him at his place at 7:30pm - I show up at 7:30 - he's not there. I call him to ask him where he is. He says "I'm running a little late man, I'll be there in an hour." You have got to be kidding me. This shit happens to me all the time.

          This wasnt me right?

On another note, EVEN in unfamiliar cities, CJ shows up on time. Like this one time in London, we were suppose to show up and meet in Westminster Abbey, I was early as fuck (55 mins) but coming around 6:55 CJ shows up BAM right before 7. Punctuality amongst ze Germans.

I grew up with this drilled into my brain - 15 minutes early is on time, on time is late and late is unacceptable. Words to live by.

I never heard it until I got into show biz, but I had always lived by it before.

I think when I was younger it stemmed from an insecurity of not wanting anybody to have anything negative to say about me.

As I got older and more confident, it was/is just a matter of common courtesy. Treat people as you want to be treated.
