It's amazing that some people can consistently show up 20 minutes late but never on time. On the Investment Fund, if you were 1 second late to an event it was a 10 page single-spaced paper on some esoteric financial topic due the next morning at 5am. 2nd time - kicked off the Fund.Originally posted by davbrucasI want to like Slow99 since people I know say he's a good guy, but just about everything he posts is condescending and passive aggressive.
Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

I've only been late twice in 20 years. The first time I was rescuing a baby from a burning building. The other time I was hit by a truck and shot in the back.... but what made me late was the flat tire."If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford

That pisses me off more than anything with my wife. Women are the worst at time management.
My wife used to work at a photo studio and you had to set appointments. It takes about an hour for setup, poses, review, etc. A lot of people, especially the darker ones, would stroll in 15 - 20 min late. By that time, there isn't enough time for them if there is someone scheduled for the next slot, but they would pitch a fit because their appt was cancelled because they were this late.

I'm in outside sales... I am on either early, on time, or I call if there is some delay, but I would say I'm on time or early 95% of the time. I have dealers who schedule a meeting, confirm the day before or day of, and either don't show or show up an hour or more late. It probably happens once a week at least. I guess I am used to it...
but one thing that always amazes me is the dealers are almost always shocked when I show up early and sometimes they get upset. The other day I was 20 minutes early to a house, and I waited in my car (on my phone returning emails in such) until it was 5 minutes until our scheduled appointment. When I got to the front door, he told me not to wait in front of his house next time... he was clearly upset by it. Needless to say, the meeting didn't go so well.

As far as work goes I used to show up early. But when work started to keep me there 1-2 hours after I was supposed to be off then I started showing up 1-2 minutes early, or just as roll call started. If it is a personal gathering then I'm usually on time, if not I try to call ahead of time to say I wont make it.
