Teachers only have to work 70 hour weeks in those jobs - not as much work to grade their tests.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

No doubt they work hard, and those involved in sports and competitive acedemics work even harder, but pay is based on supply and demand. Start graduating less teachers...err certifying...and maybe you will get more pay. But it's a job that isn't particularly hard to get into.
you have no idea what you're talking about... teachers work tons of hours.

my wife's average day is out of the house at 6AM, home at 7PM. If they're working on a show or contest, it's more like 6AM to 9-10PM.

When I refer to retards, i mean regular kids. They are just to dumb to read a ruler now days. Just keep passing them no matter what.

My wife allows retakes of test with open book, friend help, teacher help, even review sheet help and the retards(aka regular students) will still fail.

              How is that even legal?

Could be a talent show, choir or band concert, theatre, etc.

I know a lot of teachers, and the good teachers work a ton of hours. I'm also involved with the development of culinary programs in public schools, and the Chefs that teach culinary arts work nearly as many hours as they would in a top restaurant in NYC. I volunteer time with a program in particular, that went to the National Championship last year. You would not believe the amount of hours that poor Chef works.

Confused. Why would it be illegal for a teacher to provide school supplies to students?

But I think I know what you were trying to say. Teachers are not obligated to do those things, but understand that if they don't, it will only be to the child's detriment. So most of them opt to do it.

Pretty sure Eric means how is it that the teachers have to pay those bills when the school or parents should pay for the supplies

I'm sure that is what he meant too.. I was giving him shit about mentioning the "legality".

Unfortunately, many schools just don't have the budget, and many parents just don't care.

I mean exactly what I said. That can't possibly be legal to force a worker to spend their own money on students. That they would even have to consider doing it is completely outrageous.
