  • Isn't it funny...

Life's ups and downs... Less then four months ago I was a leader of Marines, had a beautiful women and a active night life, NOW, I'm sitting at home watching TLC and regretting a couple of my recent decisions... When you think you're on top I guess you forget what the bottom feels like.

Any of you prior military guys feel strange the first six months out?

I'm watching about area 51 on planet green now. I think TLC had LA Ink on.

Negative... It's just the change of lifestyle that's kicking my ass.

Go back in. That is what I wanted to do for several years after getting out.

I found a happy medium in contracting overseas.
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.

I wouldn't go back in enlisted. After getting my degree I might. I'm done with the Corps though. I had to starve myself for weigh ins since the standards have changed. I'm 250lbs and the limits for my height is 218lbs. I've got a small neck so that screws me on weigh ins. Seems you can't lift weights anymore, they want marathon runners.

Yep. Was medically discharged, hit by a semi, kicked out of my house, divorced and living in a travel trailer with no power or water in the middle of a cow pasture running fence lines for groceries while hearing voices and seeing the walls bleed.

Being out sucks. things just don't have as much meaning.

Wow, I don't feel so bad. No offense...

I just feel useless... Get paid by the VA and TWC isn't as fun as I thought it would be. Anyone know where they're hearing for a bouncing position?

Yeah, the first several months after getting out were rough. I couldn't find shit for work and was starting to feel like I had a sign on my back or something. Going from being an E-6 to working in the garden center at home depot for $10/hr was a VERY hard adjustment, but it was better than nothing. After a couple of months there, I finally found something in my line of work, it was in Minnesota though...but I still took it.
