You can help your pear tree by using a 5 gallon bucket to continually water it throughout the day. Just poke a tiny hole in the bottom to dribble water out of. I have one at each of my trees now in hopes of saving them.

We've managed to keep our yards green and our vegetable garden alive. It's not just watering that is important, but also fertilizing and feeding the trees and plants. Miracle Grow has done wonders for us through all of this heat we've had. It takes time and patience, but it's worth it. The tomatoe and cucumbers have been rockin the last couple of weeks!

This yard has come a looong way since we moved in last year. Previous tenants didn't care for it at all. It was horribly neglected to the point where my next door neighbor was mowing and attempting to keep the yard clean.

This fall I will spread some more grass seed and fertilize again. Next year it should be pretty fantastic. My neighbor is constantly congratulating me on how good my yard looks in comparison to how it was. My rose bushes are doing better and better. I wish I could figure out why one bush is doing extremely well, but the other three are just doing okay.

I'm going to have to cut my hydrangea back if we don't get a break in drought soon. They can't handle this heat, much less heat and lack of rain. I won't have blooms next year, but that will be better than dried sticks coming out of the ground.

Just paid $70 to have my wife's Denali detailed.
You remember the stories John use to tell us about the the three chinamen playing Fantan? This guy runs up to them and says, "Hey, the world's coming to an end!" and the first one says, "Well, I best go to the mission and pray," and the second one says, "Well, hell, I'm gonna go and buy me a case of Mezcal and six whores," and the third one says "Well, I'm gonna finish the game." I shall finish the game, Doc.

Did you completely change the soil the roses were in? We've got alot of clay over here, so I always dig extra deep taking out all of the clay and use good potting soil and some rose feed. Pruning regularly is also very important to keep the plant stimulated to grow.

Temp in Plano just dropped with the wind switching out of the north. Probably back down in the high 80's/low 90's. Looks like that streak will end today, damnit!

No, everything that is there now was already planted before we moved in. I'm doing the same thing for every plant. It could be that they have just been stressed for so long.

This fall I will be putting in more effort, as I have learned a lot this past year.

The temp is down to 79F. Fuck yea!

However radar shows the eastern arm of that storm breaking up. Ft. Worth will probably get a good drench but not so much down the I-35E corridor.

EDIT: Just starting to get a few drops here.
