damn dude, I was going to relax in the cabin tomorrow but now you have me looking for a place to rent a jeep tomorrow to do the full alpine loop tomorrow!
DO IT! You won't regret it and the jeep people are cool as hell! When you return it-go across the street to poker alice's. Great little pizza joint.

Here are some pics from it...I have a bunch more and so does Jared if you want to see more. It's only going to convince you to go. The middle one is on our way up Mt. Heaven.

Ah, the million dollar highway. Too bad you couldn't get a Jeep and do the Loop. Just shows how crowded they are. I remember camping up there 15 years ago and only seeing 3 or 4 vehicles all week.
We did a 4 hour hot air balloon ride. We will be doing it again. Bad ass views.
That's kickass! How much did that set you back, and where did you do this? I had a buddy do this a couple of years ago and it cost a bazillion dollars. He said it was worth every penny, though.

Snowmass, 450$. worth every penny. Our guide has flown several stars. He said he did P diddy and some girlfriend at the time for like 6 hours.

Tell me about it. Talked to 2 jeep loads in ouray and they said it was packed up there.
My favorite stretch of hiway now is officially 550 from silver ton to ouray- that is the most scenic road I've ever been on. Man I want to stay here for another week now.
sorry in advance for the pics, I took em on my cell phone today.
Today I went from South Fork to Ouray. IF you have time, this trip is definitely worth it. 550 north out of Durango to Ouray is badass. Here are some pics I snapped along the way:
this route took 3 hours up, and 3 hours back, not bad at all.
the pass before you get to silverton at 11,640 feet:
here is the view at 12,000 feet above Wolf Creek Pass from the overlook of the valley-
and here has got to be the most dangerous job in teh world, we were stopped for 20 mins and got up the washout and saw him up about 100 yards up the mountain at what had to be a 40% grade/incline, how he didnt tip it is beyond me.
