any Dirt Track guys here? thinking about getting into it

      yeah well I think going from absolutely no dirt experience to a full size sprint would be like going from not knowing how to drive a car to driving a 8 second drag car. Not to mention I'm not rich or claim to be rich (which is always popular here!) so 15-25k for a possibly competitive sprint car isnt something realistic at this junction. My wife has this whole infatuation with 11 (11th hour, infinite number or some bullshit, blah blah blah) Has nothing to do with Kinser, unless maybe the number is magical and i actually win a race or two.

        Not worth it IMO, unless you plan on running with the OCRS. According to the OCRS rules they run a wing you can't run anywhere else (16 sq ft. everyone around here runs 25 sq ft.) You can't run that engine anywhere else that I know of. So you'll have to replace the wings at ~600 a piece, and the engine, depending on class 10-40k, and all the tires. If you can get him down into the 7k range for the roller, it might be an OK deal 8-8.5k with all of his spares MAX. I've never heard of Twister chassis, and I can't find a website on them




        I'd personally give this one a pass unless he made it a good deal.

        Grape, your thoughts?

        Edit: The price also depends on the parts that are on the car right now and what shape it's in, it says it's got a half box, but it could be beat to shit, and the 4.11 Winters could be a short spline external coupler rear. I'd have to look at it personally.

          Well, I can't speak for everyone, but when I was 16 (1999) I drove a Winged Modified for a year, sold it, then was out of racing until 2005 when I started running my sprint. Yes, I tore up some stuff, I still do tear up stuff, but it's all a learning process. Don't drive above your head and maintain your line. As you get faster you'll learn how to control the car, and what it wants, and what you like. I still can't set the thing up like I like it on a dry-slick track. But I'd imagine that's a combination of setup and driver problems. Anyway, I'm more than happy to come help out. I have no clue if Sprint cars setup anything like Mini's do, but if you need me, you know how to get ahold of me.
