Tires, it all depends on how abrasive the tracks are. I've had rears last a whole season without sealing up and getting hard, but in 2010 (been living in PA, so I haven't run in 2011 yet, gimme 3 weeks or so) I've gone through 3 rights and 3 lefts, plus it's time to replace all the fronts, but they last a LONG time compared to the rears. So, 3 rights at $200 a pop and 3 lefts at 175 a piece, plus 5 fronts at 165 a piece. So about 2k in tires.

Fuck I hate adding this up. I could have bought a house with how much I've spent over the years.

I'll run it if someone else picks up the tab, engines cost 4 times as much (at least), only last 8-10 shows between freshens. 2 sets of tires per night, plus all the travel money that I'd need just to go racing. I figure it'll take a minimum of 500-750k to go racing 410's for one year. I was speaking to one of the better performing teams up in PA, their tire bill alone in 2010 was 85k.

For those of you talking about name stickers. Remember, you're paying for space, it can say almost anything you want it to, if you can fit it in the allotted space. Remember, family friendly.

          Sean, are you running a 360 or a 305?

I can assure you that you have better odds of getting the nuclear launch codes from Obama.

I had a great time racing an IMCA modified at the bowl in the mid nineties. It wasn't cheap but I enjoyed it. The only downside was weekly racing and washing off the dirt. I worked on it at least two nights a week to get it ready. I switched off to sports car racing a few years ago, it's easier on the schedule and no mud and dirt!

After some deliberation and some great advice from Racrguy, I drove up to Oklahoma yesterday and picked up my new race car!

My fat ass is just a little too big for the seat in it (a 13) so I'm gonna have to order another seat but I managed to squeeze in enough to be able to drive it, and damn, this is gonna be fun. It hauls ass. My wife was the first one to drive it as it was much easier for her to get in the car and when she came back she said.. "I want to race too!" looks like i might be buying another one of these cars. I wish i could find a definitive website for these cars so I could learn about what i need to set up this car. I've got another motor, two sets of wings, beadlock wheels, asphalt tires and dirt tires, top ends, carbs, shocks, torsion bars, and the list goes on and on. I doubt i'm gonna have all the stuff i need to be race ready by the end of the season, but hopefully some of the dirt tracks have practice sessions during the winter so that I can get some wheel time in and hopefully be somewhat competitive by the time 2012 racing season comes around.

For the record, a powerball mini and some blue magic aluminum polish are going to become a staple in your household now. I spend almost as much time keeping the thing clean as I do making sure everything is running right.

They have an A Class and a Sportsman class. I'm hoping to run in the sportsman class as its the "new driver" class. Yeah, my wife said she's going to be in charge of the "Cosmetic" department. LOL. She's already got plans to repaint the car in the existing scheme but replacing the orange with lime green, and going with number 11. *shrugs* i'm just happy she's into it too. I really need to learn torsion bar technology stuff, i might buy some books on mini sprint car setup, i can tell the car's WAAAAAAAYYY undersprung for my fat ass. LOL

You should have picked up a full sized sprinter, at least then I could point you in the direction of some good places to learn. Oh, Green/#11 are those of Steve Kinser. The King has over 500 wins in the top tier of sprint car racing. Who else has racked up a number like that?
