if your'e a drinker, it's boring like you said, but getting up early and being productive is a nice reward... my problem is I'll go a few weeks doing good and then just get a hankering, and then I'm hitting it every night for a week or so...

I'm on like 7 or 8 years, I win. I did have some 40 year old whiskey 2 1/2 years ago, but only at my grandpa's funeral. My step-great grandma(his remarried wife's mom) always wanted to have it because he was saving it for so long. He said if she died first, he was drinking it. If he died first, she could have it, and he wanted everyone else at the remembrance to have some, too.

I don't plan on quitting drinking entirely, just lessening it a whole lot. Like I said, I'll probably drink New Years, but between now and then I shouldn't have a reason to drink. I just don't want to use the weekends, or "I don't have to work tomorrow," or that kinda bullshit as an excuse to go out and get hammered.
I've noticed in these 4 days of not drinking, my lungs actually feel a lot better, too.
Taliwhacker, not quitting, just trying to be responsible. There's a lot I need to accomplish over the next 2-4 years and regular drinking isn't gonna help me accomplish those things.
