This. Get it taken care of within 48 hours of the ticket and it will help.

Thanks Matt, like I said, I am guilty, I actually made a comment about it this week, something to the tune of "wow, my inspection is waayyy out, gotta do that this weekend", then I probably added something like, "ha, got a free 6 months out of it though!" which is why karma quickly caught up to me!

I had the same just happen last week. My wife's car has been out since 4/11 and I never drive it, so the first time I drive it in a good while, I get stopped for it being out. They told me I had 20 days to fix it and it would be a $10 fee.

If you don't get caught, yes.

Hell, I stretch mine out an extra month every year. If it expires in Jan, I wait until Feb.

Ahh, if it were not Highland Park this would make me feel better! Either way she is going to go in on Monday and see what she can do. I told her worst case just flash, er, I mean, pay the ticket.

One of my coworkers has his wife get his truck inspected (his ebrake doesn't work) by dressing like a slut and going to Oak Cliff. It has never failed.

Bring me my Hi-Lift jack and I'll take care of it for you....

Just kidding..... Although I may need that jack. Have some fence work I may need to do.

I do the same thing. Thirteen states have no inspection program at all and there are a few others that just require an emissions sticker in certain counties. The program is a joke and needs to go away. Don't get me wrong, it was important when cars were much worse built and all tires were bias ply. These days it's a damn joke.

Then all of the sudden, I get pulled over three times in three days, and get ticketed. I thought it was simply a "fix it ticket" but that only applies for 90 days.

I had it with me in Colorado, so it wasn't an issue till I came back home.
                        Good to know.

I was over at another board members house (Mysticcobrakilla) and you came up in our conversation, which then immediately made me think about that jack! That's more over-due then my cars inspection! He also said he might have scared you a bit with his Roush when you were directing traffic one day!

And you should come by one of these days for a "get out of jail free card" ride in my coupe.

I always let mine go into the next month after it expires too. That's payback for the state backdating the registration expiration into the month prior to the month in which a vehicle is actually titled/registered.
