  • Craigslist: Not so bad after all

I see people posting up constatnly about how they got burned on CL, or buyers never show, bitch bitch bitch..

Well, I havnt had a bad dealing yet.

I listed my DD on Tuesday

Asking $3k, knowing its worth several hundred less.
Guy called within 20 hours, drove it Wednesday, and drove away in it today, Thursday. He paid right in the middle of my asking price, and my bottom dollar. He was also the only person that contacted me, and its listed on several forums, and waco and dallas CL

Major CL purchase. The truck I just sold (back in 2007), a blazer, a datsun, fridge, oven, couch, washer/dryer, xbox, and about 20 other small household items. I've never had bad luck, been jumped, raped, or murdered.

This is the first vehicle I've ever sold, and I'm going to miss it. Didnt do too bad either. Took $1000 less than what I paid. Hell, $250 a year for a truck? Some people pay that every 2 weeks.

People are always bitching on here about CL, but I've managed to move pretty much everything I've posted on there, and without any problems. Just gotta be careful and price your stuff at a reasonable price.

CL is the best, I sell all the time. Just hate 2 things:
Scammers-Just have to be smart about how to post and answer an ad.

CL and Facebook have been my two media sources for selling things. Sold Couch/Love Seat on FB, Oak Roll Top Desk and Focus wheels on CL...

Haven't made any purchases from CL but wouldn't hesitate...

We've purchased and sold a bunch of stuff on Craigslist, including my Bronco. We have had good experiences all around (knock wood). About the worst we have had to deal with is not getting a reply when inquiring on an ad and minor things like that.

Oh, and when buying the Bronco and some other items we ran into a number of people who weren't really up front on condition issues.

I've never been robbed or anything really bad, but I've had tons of no-shows, people who show up with less than the agreed upon amount, yet magically another $100 appears when I tell them where the nearest Chase, BoA, WellsFargo, and citibank ATMs are. lulz

I've sold quite a bit of shit so I just chalk it up to the "law of averages."

I had one guy wanting to trade me a gun instead of cash for a set of wheels. That was almost uncomfortable, but thats the only deal that I've had that went bad.

I went to meet a guy to buy his Jeep Wrangler, made me drive all the fucking way to wylie. Got out there and he never fucking showed, stiffed me. I had cash in hand, wouldn't even answer my calls.
