Is the problem that there isn't enough power being generated, or that there's too much demand on the distribution systems?

I am no expert at all, but I did stay at a holliday in express last night:

People are using more power to run ac and such since it is so hot. Combine that with heat in the lines creating resistance, it makes it evem worse.

I understand that there's a higher demand and more power being generated, but the lines and equipment also limit how much power can get from the generators to homes and offices.

What really sucks is that no one is really going to cut back or conserve because most folks operate on the mentality of "My neighbor isn't going to, so why should I?"

By choice? Good for you! I called my house and the bf is with the kids playing checkers in the family room. AC is on 82, all lights out except the one in the family room of course....and I won't do laundry or dishes until after dark.

I seriously doubt many people are sticking to do their part to help though.
