Dell has been running the Mitsubishi DLPs on special for a while now.

They haven't had the 82 up yet, but with the employee discount, i've definitely thought about the 73, I'd just prefer an LCD and would settle for a 55".

why would anyone want a massive, heavy, bulky DLP tv? DLP is gone and done.

Value for size over Plasma/LCD/LED. I bought my 65" DLP at FRY's for $899 about 1.5 yrs ago and got a Sony Blue Ray for $50 as part of the deal. I was coming from a 61" projection so didn't want to go down in size. I couldn't touch and LCD in this size for less than around double the price. I realize I could get a better picture but I am 100% satisfied watching this tv especially HD programming and Blue Rays. I chose the size/price over slightly better quality. My DLP is about 14" deep which isn't bad and not heavy by any stretch. I pick it up off the stand and sit it on the coffee table when I clean without a problem which is not bad for a 65".

Are DLP's the kind that needs a new bulb after x amount of time? If so, pricing a replacement for a 82" might be a good idea.

Someone referenced this source on Canada a while back and I ordered a bulb for our Samsung DLP from them just because the TV was about three years old. The original bulb was still fine BTW and I simply wanted a replacement should DLP technology be rendered obsolete and parts become scarce. The price was good and the service was excellent.

I have this tv and it is HUGE and amazing. I love it. It displaced a 73" which displaced a 65". It is funny because it seems like everyone dwarfed the other. I have this picture with all the sizes together and the 82" makes the 65" look like a 19". You can't beat the bang for the buck. These are great TVs and that is a great price. I think there is a 92" coming out and I can't imagine how big that looks in person.
