    That's not what happened here...

Let's not talk about all the "WHAT IFS" and different scenarios that COULD happen.... let's discuss the act forgetting about a dog in a car, which is what DID happen. A tragic, horrible accident in which an animal suffered at the hands of his forgetful caregiver.

If I were holding up a liquor store and an officer along with his K9 unit arrived, and I shot the dog.... I'd be facing charges for killing a cop.... because my actions are intentional and not accidental.

I don't even like dogs and this pisses me off, this is complete bullshit. When that dumbfuck decided to get out of the car and go into a air conditioned building he should have taken the dog with him or put him outside in the shade with some water, fucking moron...

If you guys knew half the shit you thought you did about the DA, Greenville PD, or any other gov't business in Hunt County and Greenville you'd be dangerous.

When I think of how that poor animal suffered in that car it makes me want to do the same to the officer so he can really understand what it's like.

Can you imagine what that dog went through? Dying of thirst and overheating all the while thinking his beloved master was coming back for him, all the while losing energy and dehydrating to the point of not being able to stand up? Then just slowly slumping down in the back seat until finally his vital organs just gave out? And I'll bet the dog's very last thought was of his master and how loyal he would still be to him.

It is illegal to transport or confine an animal in a cruel manner.

Dogs are property and I doubt a jury of peers come back with a guilty on it. Maybe my times with Dallas jurors has jaded me.
Too soon for them to be prosecuted. All but the one from 86 were this summer. You know attorneys put that shit off for a good 12 months. And I'd be willing to bet most all in that situation plea down on a lesser charge.

San Antonio's News, Traffic and Weather Station. Listen to Spurs basketball and Texas Longhorns football on WOAI. An @iHeartRadio station.

Owner charged in the main story. Towards the end it mentions another case, and says they are pursuing charges.

    another...

Another showing conviction in a 1986 case...

According to Michigan State University’s Legal and Historical Animal Center, there are only 14 states in which it is illegal to confine an animal in an unattended vehicle; Texas is not among them. However, in the 1986 court case Lopez v. State, a San Antonio man was convicted of animal cruelty for leaving his dog in his car while in a movie theatre on a hot July afternoon.

    Another...
