Those who believe if a a citizen kills a police dog he can be charged with killing an officer aka Capital Murder are incorrect. NOBODY stands to be charged with a Capital Felony (a crime punishable by death or life in prison) for the death of an animal. Nobody. Don't let emotion cloud your thought process.
It pisses me off that the dog died due to neglect of the officer charged with his care. He (the officer) is being given half a month off without pay.
And "the police" didn't make the decision to not prosecute the officer, the Criminal District Attorney made that choice. I can assure you, the police department does not run the DA's office.

As for jewozzy - lookie. You're wrong again. Man was arrested in SA for this very thing. And this also happens more often than you think. A quick googled pulled up 4 service dog deaths locally in the last year.Originally posted by BradMBut, just like condoms and women's rights, I don't believe in them.Originally posted by LeahIn other news: Brent's meat melts in your mouth.

Another showing conviction in a 1986 case...
According to Michigan State University’s Legal and Historical Animal Center, there are only 14 states in which it is illegal to confine an animal in an unattended vehicle; Texas is not among them. However, in the 1986 court case Lopez v. State, a San Antonio man was convicted of animal cruelty for leaving his dog in his car while in a movie theatre on a hot July afternoon.

While I see those I am curious if the people from the recent articles were actually prosecuted for it. Ill have to look into it some more. I love dogs and don't think it is right but at the end of the day it is still an accident and I don't see how someone is prosecuted for something like that... Dogs are property and I doubt a jury of peers come back with a guilty on it. Maybe my times with Dallas jurors has jaded me.

It is illegal to transport or confine an animal in a cruel manner.

When I think of how that poor animal suffered in that car it makes me want to do the same to the officer so he can really understand what it's like.
Can you imagine what that dog went through? Dying of thirst and overheating all the while thinking his beloved master was coming back for him, all the while losing energy and dehydrating to the point of not being able to stand up? Then just slowly slumping down in the back seat until finally his vital organs just gave out? And I'll bet the dog's very last thought was of his master and how loyal he would still be to him.

I don't even like dogs and this pisses me off, this is complete bullshit. When that dumbfuck decided to get out of the car and go into a air conditioned building he should have taken the dog with him or put him outside in the shade with some water, fucking moron...Originally posted by SilverbackLook all you want, she can't find anyone else who treats her as bad as I do, and I keep her self esteem so low, she wouldn't think twice about going anywhere else.
