The 4v mod motor to me is time tested and proven. They have been using this model mill for about 20yrs. Trust me when I tell you, its trustworthy.

Don't forget the dreaded tick issue on the earlier Cobra's, I also heard it has happened with the 03-04's too, not to mention rear cylinder's running hot.
Even after rebuilds the 4v's would tick, least from what I read, that's why I didn't rebuild the engine in my old 96 cobra.
Yeah no telling, already reading about #8 cylinders running lean on them, that's not good over time.
Yeah nothing compares to the old 5.0 as far as reliability I don't think.
Granted the 2v 4.6 wasn't too shabby reliability wise either.
yea i remember reading horrible shit about the 4.6 when it was first installed in the mustangs and eventually they got smoothed out by ford except for that damn ticking noise that they all seem to have!

None of my 4v ticked. my 03 cobra w/620 h.p. had no issue's. My 2011 5.0 has no issuses i have every bolt on but long tubes.
