Yeah no telling, already reading about #8 cylinders running lean on them, that's not good over time.

Yeah nothing compares to the old 5.0 as far as reliability I don't think.

Granted the 2v 4.6 wasn't too shabby reliability wise either.

The 4v mod motor to me is time tested and proven. They have been using this model mill for about 20yrs. Trust me when I tell you, its trustworthy.

              That's a lot of trustiness.

Don't forget the dreaded tick issue on the earlier Cobra's, I also heard it has happened with the 03-04's too, not to mention rear cylinder's running hot.

Even after rebuilds the 4v's would tick, least from what I read, that's why I didn't rebuild the engine in my old 96 cobra.

yea i remember reading horrible shit about the 4.6 when it was first installed in the mustangs and eventually they got smoothed out by ford except for that damn ticking noise that they all seem to have!

Well you were lucky, there is a guy up here with a 96 cobra vert, his ticks too.

Ugh I hate thinking about shit, I never used to do this.

That last 96 really makes me pay attention now.

thats because you didn't have 'em long enough to tick! granted the 2v 4.6 had all the ticking noises and the 4v just leaked fluids

My 01 Cobra didn't tick, not that it really matters. Some of them tick, and some of them don't.

I removed mine and it cleared up all the traffic in Arlington, especially on 360.
