This. Most of the time I'm places where I can't carry and cops can. You want to talk about nerve? Try doing that. Going unarmed because the law says you have to knowing the criminals can. Well criminals and cops but I repeat myself

Edit: I really need to get my medication level increased.

Carrying a weapon on your hip, with reinforcement a call away, in an air conditioned squad car, putting ground up sheet rock in cars or planting weapons or other shit in someone's vehicle you don't like is a coward and those bastards should be publicly hung to make a point.

You put on that badge, you put yourself at a station of authority. You violate that authority and you should pay FAR harder than anyone else. And they don't like the criticism of us little people? Pick a job where they aren't arresting people and destroying their lives because they feel like it.
Are you fucking kidding me?? I've put myself on the line multiple times for people I don't know. I started my career in South Dallas, then downtown Dallas. I've been on active shooting calls, I've seen dead people in the middle of the fucking street. *just like you have* When a hot call comes out, myself, and every officer I know run into the shit. Most of my fellow officers are veterans like yourself. I NEVER arrest people and destroy their lives because I feel like it. I arrest people when sufficient probable cause is met, and not because I feel like fucking this guys day up.

What law says you can't carry? Get a CHL and then you can carry until your little heart is content. As for places where we can carry vs where you cant, well, i'm covered under non-applicability, given to me by the politicians in Austin. If you genuinely have such an issue with it, you can definitely contact them.

I completely respect what you've done for us and this country. I'll never say anything bad about you, but your post just splashed water into my face. I've walked neighborhoods full of people mocking me, and antagonizing me. I've walked through crowds where I've been egged on to a fight just because I'm in uniform. Did me or my partners engage in the fights just because we were police? No. We just ignore the idiots with the mob mentality (much what is demonstrated here) and move on.

      SMH.

Well.........you're prolly one of the good cops.
Would you beat someone like that homeless guy got beat?
The difference between you and 03trubluGT is that you don't always jump on the cop's side. No matter what, 03trubluGT will defend a cop...........dirty or not,..........with all the info or not.

Right. I didn't say all cops. I said I've heard of cops doing it. If you aren't, good for you. Would you like videos of 911 calls and cops taking over an hour to get to a rape? Or a burglary? Or a car jacking? Or perhaps videos of cops taking pot out of suspects cars and putting it in theirs and selling it later? Or the incident I mentioned about a cop putting sheetrock dust in a car to frame someone?

The bad apples spoil the bunch. You know what? I didn't walk through a city antagonizing me. I walked through city streets were people were actively shooting at me and triggering IED's. You know what else? People in other countries have FAR more protections from us than we in the US do from cops. Hell, we have so many eyes on us that stepping over the boundaries mean war crimes charges whereas a cop gets 15 days vacation without pay.

I have a CHL and there are places I can't carry. Schools, hospitals, government buildings, bars, any place with a 30.06 sign or a 51% sign. I can keep going. Cops however have none of the restrictions. Don't talk to me about not having nerve to go places cops do until they do it without their protections.

And why is it if a cop hits me, it's not really a big deal but I hit a cop, it's assaulting a peace officer and I get thrown under the jail?

I understand the 30.06 abd 51% laws. Again, it's because a politician in Austin felt the need to give us non-applicability. It's not our fault as police officers that we have that right. You're placing the blame on the wrong people.

As for the assault argument, it's just the way it is. If you are wrongly hit by an officer, file an IA complaint and move on. If you attack him back, well, you're in the wrong as he is and will get charges that'll be looked at by the DA to decide whether nor not it'll go to trial. Again, this is law set in place by politicians in Austin.

I understand your frustruations, but it appears that you are placing the blame on the wong people. I told you who you can write to address your distaste in the laws. Find your local congressman and go from there.

And what about all the rest of us who actually take pride in what we do? I have stories of our military doing terrible things to civies over in Iraq, afg, and you don't hear me saying fuck our military.

I'm done with this conversation, as I know that my points fall on deaf ears.

And I understand your position, but if I get hit, it gets covered up, as this case was tried to be hidden, but I touch a cop I get beat AND charged. I'm placing the blame on bad cops and say they need more checks and accountability. If they break their oath, they should be punished more harshly than a civilian every time

Then you should be with me and say that any cop caught doing this crap should be HARSHLY punished. You know what happens if we do bad things overseas? We get hit with military tribunals and war crime tribunals. Not 15 day vacations, not "on suspension pending an investigation". The fact military overseas are held to a higher standard than police here is pissing me off every time I see something like this. We aren't even sworn to protect Iraqis as police are here (although that pesky Supreme court ruled that cops have no obligation to protect citizens).

OK I lied, this will be my last post. I have openly stated on numerous occasions that officers who break the law need to be punished severely for those crimes. I said the same about the guys who killed the homeless man. I support the blue line, but only the officers who do their jobs diligently, and with honor and ethics. Not the officers you've mentioned here today.

                          • Duly noted, however I do NOT support the blue line. That line hides criminals and abusers and is not necessary if a police for is regulated, monitored and accountable.

If you do not see the issue with that, you are just as blind as the crooked cops in the videos in this thread.
