That's the problem with the way society is set up. If cops protect each other beyond all reproach, that's just too bad. If citizens do the same, it's vigilantism, and is completely unacceptable.

Simply put, I look forward to the day that Police are given credit for their actions. The good ones deserve accolades, and the bad ones deserve jail time. The way the situation currently sits, there aren't enough of either.

I love how cop threads always end up in a dick measuring contest.

Denny, just remember that we're not in the desert. I mean everyone should have a .338 Lapua sitting around, but it's more for want than for need.

That's why I try to limit my commentary....I'm just average.

I totally agree with your sentiment Adam, but it's not worth a few decades in prison to prove a point. Well, at least not to me.

I'd fight tooth and nail to see that these officers are held accountable, but physical violence isn't the best recourse.

It would seem that there is allowance in their for the proper course of law. Should that not happen, and it was your family, would you just toss up your hands and say "Oh Well, at least they're protecting and serving."

Aaron, there are some things worth doing on principal. We are held accountable for our actions. They should be also.

Double standards are always wrong. I hate the way officers are treated in the field by the chain of command, but there's only so much I can do. If a Lieutenant violates policy X, he gets nothing. If an officer does it, he can get a suspension w/o pay.

I agree with the last paragraph as well. The problem is that there is an old saying that is very true. It takes 20 "Attaboys" to equal one "oh shit"....

Oh, and another FTP thread that reaches 3 pages, thanks to me..

This is an interesting site if anyone has time to take a look:

                          • Not sure what it is exactly, but seeing the man's face, I'm speechless.

The man had the life beaten out of him on the street. Did he shoot a cop or something? Why did they murder the guy? What are the cliffs notes?

                            • Yeah, they murdered him. Read that last link. Full force knee drops to the throat? Beat him with the butt of the tazor until blood spattered? At least five to one odds and still full force...

But, it's all good. It was just a random act by a rogue faction of those sworn to uphold the law and protect the general populace. They can't all actually abide by the law, I mean, really. They are human, after all...

He was mentally ill, and apparently was resisting arrest?

Sure sounds like a great reason to beat someone to death, huh.
Im just wondering why it didnt go out to someone actually deserving of a beating like that? Child molester, rapist, murderer, etc.
Needing to beat him that severely to subdue him is just ridiculous.
