    Found this on SVTP.

I watched the news cast on TV about it and almost broke down in tears from it as the mother and father of the man killed spoke about it....not to mention in the video you hear the man crying for his father, "Dad! Dad! Dad!"....then listening to his father comment about that as well.

I didn't post this for everyone to come in and start calling cops "Stupid pigs" and bashing them all...but this is just not right and I really hope these officers pay for their wrong-doings.

The title of my thread speaks about it all as well as read the links:
Police Beat 'Gentle' Homeless, Mentally Ill Man to Death
Cops Kill Homeless Man for Resisting Arrest | The Stir

A picture of what the man looked like in the hospital (His father took this picture and released it to the media so they could see how brutally he was beaten). An eye witness on the news tonight that was interviewed said he saw the man laying face down and the officers just beating the back of his head with their flashlights...I can definitely believe that after seeing the pic...warning it's graphic.

And lastly the video a man took of it...you can't see what's happening but LISTEN to everyone's commentary and the man crying:

And the news report I saw...just found it on youtube:

I think the cops should be punished.

Equally as important or curious, the parents don't look bad off, why would they let their son who has mental problems be homeless???

This kind of shit infuriates me to no end. Resisting or not, there is absolutely no reason to beat a man that bad short of him having a weapon of some sorts. I don't want to hear the same old line about how "these are a few bad apples." It seems as though as we go further on down the road, the actually good cops are the "few good apples" and the rest are just fuckwads with an ego trip. Sure, all cops are nice to your face, but when put in situations where they have to make judgment calls like this, or ones that involve your rights it seems that more and more often they're going with the mantra of "fuck your rights, I'm going to do what I want."

And the good cops wonder why the general populace hates ALL police officers.

Sometimes you just reach the point where you have to cut people loose and leave them to their own devices. Shitty, but that's the way it is.

Edit: Or maybe he wanted to live like that, and refused help from his parents.

I knew I shouldn't have watched that. All it did was piss me off. What would you do if you saw it happening? Defend the guy and get arrested for assaulting a police officer, or do nothing and let him get beaten to death? This shit seems to be happening more and more. I was raised to have respect for law enforcement, but more and more it seems they are not earning that respect. This deserves a great big FUCK THE POLICE!

Edit: I really don't know what I would do in that situation. And that is says a lot about what this country has come to.

I hope this was caught on one of the officer's dash cam. It would put to rest all of the speculation that is going on up to this point. It sure makes me wonder of all the cell phones out there, why didn't this one capture ANY of the assault?

People cast out their own family that has gotten to some breaking point, and then when this happens, are happy to sue the city/police for harming the perfect little angel. It happened in FTW with Michael Jacobs.

I'll say it for the 4,943,241 time. I'd bet this is a result from 1)young, 2)inexperienced and 3)under trained officers that lack confidence. There are approximately 800,000 sworn officers in the US and on July 5th, 2011, about 799,995 did nothing to violate the public's trust. I know that's a stretch, but you get my point.

That video was a bunch of nothing. I could hear a guy yelling "dad", but did you hear anything else? No sounds of a scuffle? What bothers me is you don't hear any officer's verbal commands. There is no reason to use strikes if the person is not complying, and you can't comply if you aren't told what to do.

I sure hope there is conclusive video somewhere to either exonerate or condemn these officers.

Me too, a bruise here and there for resisting is totally acceptable, but this guy is alot more than just bruised. I really don't see a valid explanation as to why he deserved what got him the face that he has in the pics. other than indiscretion.

Rodney King got less of a beating, and the cops involved were fully at fault. For you to cast a doubt on the officer's fault is boderline laughable.

His face being that way means that the officers had close contact, and felt safe enough, and kept beating him.

Since you cast a shadow of doubt, pray tell, what scenario would justifiably lead to his face looking like that, and ultimately death?

Bro, it's one thing to be a contrarian and devil's advocate for the sake of a discussion, but I'd pick a different topic to pose an opposing insight.

Yall even read 03trubluGT's post? Or just read a bit of it and start assuming he is defending the po-po?

Edit: With that said, the video of the beatings showed nothing. Assuming the witness stories are believable there is a serious issue there.
