if there are no hidden issues then this is a fucking great deal, all other tahoes(non-police) with those kind of miles are going for $9-10K!
friend of mines parents has one and they drive the piss out of it, it's an 03 but has something crazy like 240-250K miles(almost all city) and i think the biggest issues has been 1 water pump and 2 alternators. if i had the extra skrilla i would go buy it and road trip it back here. even if i didn't keep it i could sell it for $8k easy and make all my money back plus a few extra bucks
How was the rack attached? No holes to fill I'm assuming? I like it.
Just 10 torx head bolts. They were about 1" long and I'm not sure if they were in blind holes or not so for now I just put the bolts back in. Eventually I'll find a more flush way to plug them.
I'm going to start looking at swaybars and some other suspension stuff today. From what I've read the police Tahoes actually handle very well for what they are, and the body roll (my biggest complaint) is cut WAY down. With all of the driving I do for work I want a nice, stable, firm ride... should turn out pretty well.
personally i would take off the side steps since they are useless with it lowered that low
and put the stock headlights back on to make it look more like a police tahoe, they are a dead giveaway that it isn't

still a nice ride though
Same here. And it is a touch too low for my taste.
Yea, I agree his tahoe still has a ways to go in the looks dept but a couple months ago it was stock height and had some stupid looking 24's on it. He is starting to see the light in some ways but still has a ways to go.
At first we all thought that we would not like the Tahoes. We have had many Explorers and they were ok but really were weak in a lot of areas. I can honestly say they are a fantastic patrol vehicle and do pretty decent in the back forty also while looking for stolens. The AC in these things is the best I have ever had hands down also. I think the funiest shit though is that people really have no clue until it is too late. Many a day I will be casually strolling up the service road trying to drink my fresh cup of coffea and some numbnuts will blow by me like I am not there. You would think they would have prisoner area but they do not. They do pretty welll in a chase also butttt you have to really watch for brake fade. Not to mention jumping out of one and running is way easier. I actually ran down a fourteen year old burglar a few months ago.
Sorry I need my pushbar. It has saved many a stranded motorist from having to be towed due to blocking the roadway.
