Update:
I just don't know what to think today. It seems like we're being jerked around by the mother of the pregnant girl. The baby is due pretty soon and they still haven't done an "intake" with our agency. Also, they now say they want to keep the baby for 1 to 3 weeks for to "Bond" with the baby.
That and other things tell me that they actually want to keep the baby. My wife feels exactly the same way. She spent an entire day crying over it. Now she's to the point where she's ready for it to entirely blow up on us.
Tomorrow we are meeting with them again. We're going to address all these different issues with them. We're now prepared to walk away. These guys are either not serious about adopting this child or they're trying to scam us. So far they haven't gotten any cash out of us. They've only gotten a few free meals. Frankly I think the mother of this girl is trying to manipulate the situation to a point where her daughter is forced to keep the baby. I think that will blow up in her face if we walk away. If we do adopt, we'll want less involvement with this lady. I think there is a decent chance the birth mother will simply give the baby away to someone else if her mother keeps interfering.
Sorry fellas, I had to vent. I'm a bit frustrated on this whole deal. However I'll give our agency their due props. They've been looking out for us from day one.Last edited by Sgt Beavis; 08-15-2011, 08:13 AM.Comment

Good God man, what a beat-down.
I really hate to say this but I'm fairly certain that she's going to back out. I'm really sorry for both of you.
There should be a law suit waiting to happen to any birth mother who goes this far into a contract then backs out, and causes so much heartache.
