Auto Insurance Question

I was inquiring about switching insurance companies and the new company said having me on the insurance would double the rates. When we asked why they said I had an accident from 08. I haven't been in an accident since 97. How is this possible? My rates never rent up with my current company. This is just bizarre. Tried calling my insurance company but they are at lunch right now.

Who has the power to put this on a persons DMV record and take it off? This is clearly a type-o. Thanks in advance for any help or advice.

I found out that I did have an accident. Back in 08 I hit a gator strip from an 18 wheeler that went underneath the G35 and pushed the radiator into the engine causing 3k in damages. I didn't think that was considered collision. Boy, was I wrong
