I'll sit back and wait for the "Just found out my girlfriend has been banging her ex" thread, or the update to this one "Well, I went in acting all billy badass, and she got pissed and broke it off".
From this I've gathered -
- Don't meet him in a parking lot
- If she has a family don't expect them to just fall by the wayside
- Put my ego aside and don't rile up his emotions because that's only going to lead to more contact
- Don't get mad when he asks how his dick tastesAn invasion of armies can be resisted, but not an idea whose time has come.

How long have you been dating her?
How long has it be serious?

yeah, sounds like you're in for some problems.
This is typically within the six month time frame when he starts calling again, missing her because he's lonely or regrets his mistakes. She still has a connection to him, and if he plays his cards right, he'll win her back.
Dating her that close to their breakup definitely puts you in the rebound category. I'm not saying it can't work between the two of you, but you definitely need to set the ground rules and expectations, and not be afraid to stand up to her. The only two options I'd settle for in this situation would be to block his number, or change her's, it's honestly the only way to get him to stop contacting her. Especially if it's via text. By the time he realizes he's blocked or her number doesn't work, he'll have sent her 100 messages, and gotten extremely pissed at her, that he's talked himself out of wanting her back.
You're trying to stand up to him, when he has the edge on you, he probably knows more about her at this point, what buttons to push, which strings to tug on, than you do.

At most she's staying in contact with him outside of your radar, and that's what's causing him to contact her when he's drunk and vulnerable.

I have had to deal with this a few times..
In my experience ignoring the texts works but takes awhile because some guys just don't give up. If she changes her number the texts will go away but he will then try to contact her on facebook, email or show up at her place. Every time she texts him back (regardless of what they say) he is getting a response and that feeds the situation.
She needs to make it VERY clear that she is not interested, is with you and if he continues then you will be having a conversation with him. Let her deal with it and just be willing to step in if she can't get it to stop .
