He's 100+ miles away so I'm not too concerned about this. It's not an issue at all until he texts and they always say something like "why are you ignoring me?" or something along those lines. I'm not a dick by any means and I just want to nip this in the butt and get it over with.

Changing her number would be tough because she is in the middle of applying and interviewing for teaching jobs and that number is the contact all of the schools have on file for her.

I get what you are saying, but the principal is the same. Face to face or over the phone, confrontation with the guy is only going to stoke his emotions.
