Do you know how/where to turn off the water - it may be a matter of turning off the water supply to the house and getting your drinking water in gallon jugs.

Can you get pics of the problem or at least the area? Myself or someone else maybe willing to come down, but not all of us are plumbers - just basic stuff. Personally, I don't want to go all the way down there and leave you with no water.

If you posts the pics, I'd hope maybe folks can do sort of a walk through of what needs to be fixed and how to do it. Then someone can get the parts and implement. I'd sure want the help if your stories are true.
