When ATM's were new, I would hear about wrong amounts, but it never happened to me personally. I imagine it would still come out of the requested account number?
It happens more often than you think. If it gave you over, the next time the atm is counted it will be audited and the cash will prolyl come out of your account.
If you received less, then call the # on the back of your card, give the person the info on the receipt, and they will credit your account provisionally while they conduct a count of the atm.

i was just wondering as i got $100 cash this morning, but the $20's were new and i thought i got rooked because i could not get the bills to separate. alas i was not, but i was just wondering how these things have never made a mistake when i use them.
god bless.

The first time it shorted me like 200 bucks in the L'auberge Casino in Lake Charles. It was a big ordeal, staff at casino couldn't help, told me to call the ATM company. They basically said it would get taken care of after they saw the debits didn't equal the cash left, but said it had to go through the ATM (some off the beaten track bank). I ended up disputing it with my bank, getting my money back, and they dealt with the Casino/ATM company and never heard about it again.
The second time I was in a bar and drew out 200 bucks. Out comes the $200 with a receipt for 50 dollars. I was like this is awesome and laughing. My buddy in the line behind me goes "I drew out 50 and got a receipt for 200, is your account XYZ?"
Dont leave your money there for over 30 seconds or so. I got two hundred out one day and was screwing around with my wallet. I heard the machine start working agian like it was counting and it had sucked my money back in. I had to go get it from the bank that monday they said it was a safety measure.
No but when I was 16 or so I pulled some money out of an atm. Well, I guess there was a stuck receipt in there or something because when I pulled out "my receipt" it said my balance was like $25,000... I had a short lived moment of yippie but upon further investigating it was someone elses bank account number....
