There is a 1100-mile Plum Crazy 2010 SRT8 at Huffines Plano... $39,995. I can get a 2012 SRT8 for $38k easily, possibly as low as $36.5 if they're trying to move it.

There is a 23k 2010 Plum Crazy Heritage Edition R/T at Don Davis... $34,995. There are unsold new 2010 HE R/Ts at Allen Samuels for $31k and $33k, but they're pink lol.
When my MIL decided she wanted a white/orange SS I found a dealer who had a 4k used one for a asking of $500 less than MSRP. She ended up with a new one for around $3k off, and got a better rate than the used one.

What I am finding here recently is that "slightly" used cars are asking more than you can get a new for many times. My brothers 2010 slt dodge 2500 4x4 would still bring more than he paid for it according to what I see new dealers asking for them. When I bought my F250 last year I priced year old used trucks and I could a new one cheaper after considering the better rate.

i'm not sure why that is, but i've noticed the same thing with a lot of vehicles lately. look at prices of used diesels; they're about the same as new...sometimes more.

Compare 2009-2010 F150's to the 2011 with better motors. It is crazy.

It is also crazy that I was able to sale a 2007 F150 with 80k miles for 23,000. Used cars are high.

why don't people just buy new? i don't get it. if i had the choice between a used and new vehicle, for the same price, i'll take the new one. sounds like you did really well on that '07! i wonder what my wife's '10 f150 is worth...loaded lariat, 4x4, sunroof, nav, etc...8k miles.

I was debating on trading in my 2010 F250 on a dodge 11 dodge 2500 SLT. They were going to give me $1k less than a paid a year ago. I'm probably going to do it in September when they are clearing them out if I can get the rate I want. Should be able to step into a new truck with a three year payment at slightly less money.

Some people still believe that the car IMMEDIATELY loses value when purchased. Well, I guess that is true if you are a stupid buyer and don't haggle.

it would be tempting to sell her 5.4 and get her an '11/12 5.0 for a similar price!

I'd do it. Just list it for sale and drive it until it sells. You won't get crap trade in in most cases. Dealerships tell you NADA trade in means crap and that the market is lower. Then when buying they tell you NADA means crap and the market is higher. lol

Depending on what Ford is offereing... you might get a better rate. Also, there are sites like Penfed.org giving 2.49%.
