Is that an official stat? Drugs are available to the famous and the non-famous alike.

They sure are...which is why we have prisons full of drug offenders, a multi billion dollar drug trafficing empire, ect. My point was that it makes it that much easier to go down that path when you are in that industry. If I wanted some crack cocaine or herion...I would have to work at finding it, because the people I surround myself with aren't into that. But if I was a star of somekind, I would prob know 20 people that could hook me up...and would be more than willing to no matter how strung out or close to death I was. The people around entertianment individuals generally don't give two shits about that person. They are more worried about getting paid themselves, advancing themselves, ect. Addiction is such a powerfull force...if you don't have someone around you that cares, or care yourself...your pretty much fucked.

lol @ this thread. Not a single person even talking about Winehouse any more.
I'll take three dead Cobains over a live Winehouse any day.
What wasn't shown is after the beat down happened the band tried to make a run for it. Immediately following the incident I was out in the parking lot with my very drunk and psychotic date. As she was puking and cursing at me using someone else's name I see the band get into a Taxi. The dude who did the original beatdown came running out with blood streaming down his face. The cab was stopped for traffic so all you saw was the silhouette of Cobain's hair flailing back and forth while the dude had a hold of his throat through the window thrashing him back and forth. Then some mullet wearing cock sucker that weighed no more than ninety pounds comes out of nowhere trying to kick the glass out of the cab door and ends up falling on his ass. Best night during my young life.

You have to have the desire to want to do something like that IMO. Doesn't matter how available it is. If she didn't want to smoke crack, she wouldn't have.

              • Sad, but nobody could possibly be shocked. She has been walking dead for a few years now. She had the lungs of a 70 y/o. Crack + mental illness + eating disorders + heavy smoking + alcohol + etc.. = fantastic recipe for an early demise.

She's now a member of the prestigious 27 club, along with Janis, Morrison, Hendrix, Cobain, etc..

                  • FWIW, I thought she was really good... her first single intrigued me, and I liked everything else she did.

then she just became a sad circus sideshow

it's actually fascinating that she's made it this long!

                    • I also think most of the problems people like her run into is to much time to get into trouble . It's not like they have jobs they have to get to or a problem paying for whatever they want . If it were me I would have the same problems . If the party doesn't have to end , why should it . Idle time is the enemy .

Just proves, good music is normally produced by good drugs

                            Yup....sorry....I mis-stated that. I didn't turn 21 until December 91'. Ugh.

                            • Just wanted to take a moment to point out that Amy Winehouse has been sober for about 48 hours. Woohoo!
