When Smells Like Teen Spirit debuted on the radio it was extremely different yet anyone who liked rock music could relate. It's the same with the band Tool. Not sure if you are a fan, but their sound is very unique, much like Nirvana's sound was unique at the time. They have been around now for 20+ years and have fans of all ages. That's more than marketing IMO.

Only comparing the fact that they are both unique and audiences ate their music up.
I had the privilege of seeing Nirvana play at Trees before they became insanely popular. Got to see Cobain get his ass beat by one of the Trees staff that had a hard on for keeping people off the stage. Quite funny. Point being is back then people were amazed at their sound and there was no real marketing involved for them at that point.Last edited by SS Junk; 07-24-2011, 12:48 PM.

I've seen the videos of that incident played on MTV, way back when they actually still played about 50% music.

This is the pic that really shows the differance...she was a good looking young lady. I don't think I have ever heard her music or know much about her, but rip. Ever ask yourself why this happens to people who are in the entertainment industry. It human nature..place yourself in that enviroment, with the money, drugs, partying...and then surround yourself with only people who say "yes". 90 percent of the people posting in this thread would be strung out
