My neighbor on the other hand was watering from the outside hydrant and got a $250 fine for it during the middle of the day and on off days. Would like to know if anyone else does this.
You can't get a fine for the water consumption portion, but it might be against other ordinances since it's technically waste water.

What I do for my outdoor plants when there's a water restriction, is place a large plastic tub in my shower while I bathe. I use the excess runoff water from my shower on the plants and it saves me on my water bill too...that doesn't help a whole yard though LOL

      washer hookup

[QUOTE=347Mike;329210]So how do you do this? You hook your hose up to your washermachine hookup?[/QUOTE

Take the extractor hose, hook it it to a hose of equal size and run it out to a tank or out into the yard. I know people who have a 100 gallon tank that catches sink, tub and washing machine water. Its hooked to a pump that goes into a hose to a sprinkler system. Its not expensive or complicated. Point taken about the phosphates ruining the aquafier systems...

i heard something on npr earlier today and it said something about Dallas making the use of gray water legal or something. damn! ive been googling like crazy but cant find anything, however i found some "graywater systems" that filter all the bad stuff. im seriously thinking about getting one.

no bugs this year is because of the no rain and high heat not because you are running gray water around your house.
