  • Steakhouses in Corpus?

Anyone on here familiar with any that are particularly nice/good? My parents 50th is coming up in August and I'd like to take them to a III Forks type place. Brent, Matt, Bueller?

I have always like the Water Street Oyster Bar...I don't know if it is the same as III Forks, but it is definitely really good....imo.

Water Street is a seafood/steak/oyster bar....but not really a "bar". We always make plans to go there when we get to the coast. It's one of our faves

There are two Water Street Restaurants, both in the same parking lot, but each has a slightly different menu/specials.

                Water Street Seafood Company
                Water Street Oyster Bar

Seafood Company is more of a larger scale restaurant, with a small bar.
Oyster Bar is more of a bar atmosphere with dining, smaller more intimate.

My uncle is the CFO for Water Street Restaurants. Which includes The Executive Surf Club next door which is a burger joint.

For steaks, there's Katz Steakhouse in the downtown area.
There's also the Yardarm which is steak/seafood, and has been around forever.

It's been so long since I've been to a "nice" restaurant in Corpus, let me send some messages out to friends that are still there and see what they have to say.

Hard to say, they are currently living on the beach in Port A, but are in the process of closing on a house in Corpus. Not sure where they'll be a month from now, but we've pretty much done everything in Port A to death.

Long John Silvers, or for a combo steak/seafood place, Golden Coral

Ok, the reason I ask, is there is a super cool, small restaurant, that I've wanted to try, on the island. My dad sold a couple of condos he built to the owner. It's attached to one of the small old school hotels in Port A, and only holds about 50 people inside and out. We tried to go for Mother's Day brunch but it was first come/first serve that day and it was packed.

Katz 21 is downtown Corpus and people down there seem to love it, i've never eaten there myself. But it's the only real higher end steakhouse.

The Yardarm is old school, and I think I even sent Henry there when he was in Corpus, and he loved it.

The Republic of Texas is downtown in one of the hotels, but I've heard from friends that it's hit or miss lately.

Something like their 50th....Republic of Texas or Katz 21. Both were very good. If they have never been to Republic of Texas, that would be my first choice. We took my parent when they came to visit last year. They liked the food, but they really enjoyed just sitting near the windows and watching the sun set and the water.

If you are going for more the budget route. Longhorn right off Everhart and Alameda is pretty good for the money. It is like walking back in time 20 years when you go in though.
