  • Trying to find small quanTities of steel in the metroplex

Where can I find pieces of steel in DFW? I don't need a whole stick of a few pieces and all the retail places want to sell you 20+ feet.

    I'm building a vehicle rotisserie and need 1 foot of 3" O.D. x 3/16" DOM tubing and 2 feet of 2.5" x 1/4" DOM tubing.

    Any suggestions??

Try this place. I have bought from them before.

    Norton Metals Inc
    1350 Lawson Road
    Saginaw, TX 76131-2723
    (817) 232-0404
    nortonmetals.com

They are just north of FW. Close to 35/820 intersection.

Its quite a huff from Rockwall but I use WestTex Iron and Metal for my new/used/scrap material. They are in Fort Worth on Main street near La Grave Field.

        Westex Iron & Metal Co
        1000 North Houston Street
        Fort Worth, TX 76164-9317
        (817) 626-7033

Norton is good too but unless they have changed, they don't sell droppings.

*Edit* Try your local scrap yards / recyclers. They will generally sell scrap back to you.

Biggest they carry is 2 7/8"x .125 wall. They don't even carry 2.5"

          Thanks for the heads up

Drove right by there for two years and didn't even think about them this time around.

                Garland Steel

just tell them you need some drops and they will send you to the right building to search the scrap piles.

Thanks for the heads up man.

I got both pieces of pipe I was looking for for under $10. Even got some pricing on the longer pieces I'm looking for and they were able to sell me short sticks to save me some money.
