I am going to take a guess and say he took out the mom without the Dad knowing. The Dad walks into the room and he hammered away at the Dad from behind his back.

How in the world someone could do that to their parents is beyond me. My dad is my best bud in the world. It would NEVER cross my mind to want to beat him to death with a hammer. I just don't get it.

Also note they were older parents too. I'll be about as old when my kids are 17, but they'll know better to even think about that shit. Hell, they maybe able to kill me but when they go after Momma she'll take care of business for sure.
