  • Fla. Teen Allegedly Killed Parents with Hammer then Hosted Party

Thats just all kinds of messed up.

(NewsCore) - PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. -- A Florida teenager was Monday being held in jail after allegedly beating his parents to death with a hammer -- then throwing a party while their bodies lay in a bedroom of the family home.

Tyler Hadley, 17, was charged with two counts of first-degree murder after being arrested Sunday, WPEC reported.

Police attended the home about 4:20am local time Sunday after receiving a tip that the teen had murdered his parents and their bodies would be found at the Port St. Lucie, Fla., address.

Blake Hadley, 54, and Mary-Jo Hadley, 47, were found dead on the floor of the locked master bedroom, their bodies partially covered with "all sorts of household items," police said, including books, files and towels, according to NBC Miami.

A hammer was found between them and both bodies had wounds to their head and torso.

"It was a merciless killing. It was brutal and the Facebook invitation -- a party to have your friends and 40 to 60 people come over -- I think speaks for itself," Port St. Lucie police Capt. Don Kryak said outside the scene of the crime on Monday.

"The blunt force trauma to the head and torso with a 22-inch [56cm] framing hammer can effect a considerable amount of injury."

Kryak said the teen posted an invitation for the party on Facebook between 1:15pm and 1:30pm Saturday -- before the homicides occurred, The Palm Beach Post reported.

Police suspect Hadley's mother was killed first and both slayings occurred outside the master bedroom of the house.

Hopefully they have enough evidence to nail down the conviction.

You hit the nail right on the head.

I guess he was really just trying to hammer home his argument for having a few friends over.

From experience, the 24" model (61cm) is much more effective.

                    Damn, that is just sickening.

How in the world someone could do that to their parents is beyond me. My dad is my best bud in the world. It would NEVER cross my mind to want to beat him to death with a hammer. I just don't get it.
