New Orleans would be fun again, Iam still laughing about the "Katrina tours". Memphis sounds lke a good idea, could hit up that bbq place that came on Man vs Food.

I like Corky's, Rendezvous is world famous thanks to celebrities but it's a whole lot easier to get into Corky's and their dry rubbed ribs are about the best in the world. BB King's place has some of the best food in town though, a great atmosphere and whatever the next big thing is drink or food wise they are probably field testing it there. That and BB randomly shows up to perform along with several other famous musicians.

If you want gambling Tunica is right across the river or they have river boat casinos that actually launch regularly.

Beale St has to be one of the funnest places in America. I'd say it's like Bourbon St but there aren't any strip clubs. In their place are lots of excellent Blues clubs, mixed in with badass BBQ joints, some wanna be voodoo stores, one gay country bar (they have to have their little corner I guess) and tons of just regular bars. Open carry is legal so people buy drinks and just walk up and down, hitting all the clubs.

Then of course you have the Peabody hotel, with it's famous duck march. Inside of it is Lansky Brothers, if you time it right Bernard Lansky could make you a suit. He was Elvis's personal tailor.

Lol, Excuse my ignorance at that moment. But I was mocking on how the OP was talking in his first post. To me it seemed like that.. And those plates are the ones on his truck. Lol. Just giving the guy a hard time..

I just got done driving 3968 miles in the last week going to Cali and back. There is a lot of boring country between here and there if you go the quickest way. I did check out the Hoover Dam, Vegas, and Yosemite though which were cool.

So this is the roadtrip we did with the kids for spring break. It was 9 days and that could definitely be trimmed as we stayed with his family for several days.

Day 1: left at night after work and drove to Carlsbad. Stopped for the night.

Day 2: got up and did a cavern tour (if you do this-book in advance. They sell out if you don't). Finished that and drove the rest of the day. Stopped in Blythe, CA for the night.

Day 3: Got up, saw the wind farms and drove on into Riverside, CA (Chili's family lives there). Spent the night with them.

Day 4: Got up and went to Disneyland. Stayed all day

Day 5: Went to Venice Beach. Saw all the freaks, watched the skaters and had lunch on the walk. Played in the water and had a blast. Then drove through Hollywood, Beverly Hills, etc and went back to Riverside.

Day 6: Spent time with the family then headed to Las Vegas. Stayed in Vegas.

Day 7:Went to Circus Circus to let the kids play and showed them some of the big sights. Got upgraded to a fucking BITCHIN' suite and stayed in Vegas again.

Day 8: Got up, drove to the Hoover Dam. Checked it out, then headed home.

Day 9: Back to reality...

It was fucking awesome.

Ive got a little trail that heads down to Florida. I leave Dallas at 7:00 am to Houston, eat breakfast in the Woodlands, head to I-10 to New Orleans, stay there for the evening, see bourbon street, see the freaks, dring cheap alcohol then become a freak.
I leave the next day I stop in Mobile Alabama and see the USS Alabama, get something to eat then get back to I-10 and head to Pensicola Florida, watch the sunset on the beach, eat some kickass fresh seafood.
Next day back to I-10 heading east to DeFuniack Springs winery (off of I-10) get some kickass wine, head to Tallahassee, spend the evening at Hooters, get some sleep. The next day you can go to a number of places in Florida, I always head to Tampa/Sarasota and spend the next several days on a beach with nothing on my mind but bikinis, alcohol and freash seafood...
