  • Stay back 200ft

Not responsible for broken windshields. Dump trucks that have these stickers, are they really not responsible for broken windshields? Can I slap a " stay back 500ft, not responsible if I run my car into yours" bumper sticker and get away with it?

From what I've seen, the sticker does not release them from any liability. They use it as a ploy to not pay when people call them and try to get payment for broken windshields. However, a good attorney can get them to pay, but is it worth the extra cost?
"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man." - Thomas Jefferson, 1776

Lot's of good that sticker does when those pricks pass you doing 90 or meet you and shower you with rocks

If I could I would stay a mile away from them

That is just a trick to try to fool the uneducated.

That does not absolve them of ANY responsibility.

What I think is funny is that there is no way to be able to read the lettering a 200 feet unless you have the vision of an eagle.

Yeah, even the minor damage those trucks do is bad.

Those signs don't mean a fucking thing. You can post a sign all day long about anything you want, but it doesn't make you any less liable as a trucking company owner for things flying out of the back of your truck.

I know this isn't exactly the same, but how does the situation go if an 18 wheeler has a blow out and the tread beats up your car?

                          They're liable for it...

same as if your tire shreds and beats up another car driving by. It's unintentional, but it's YOUR tire

How would you go about forcing the trucking company to pay? Pull over and wait on the police to file a report or what?
