We're also have to use a co-op, so I can't get the good rate. I think we're paying 11 cents+ per KwH. The sucky part is having the big bill and not actually having the house cold.
I'm stuck with CoServ.

Here is what a new A/C unit can do for you.
Last year, my consumption during this billing time was 2092 KWH (86 deg. average temp) with an old, inefficient A/C unit. It crapped out in March, so we got a new, super high efficiency (second from the highest) unit, both inside and outside units changed.
This year, my consumption was 1832 KWH (93 degree average temp) for the same billing period. We leave the temp at 76 deg. at night, turning it to 77 deg. during the day. House is 31 years old, 2150 sq. ft., original windows/insulation. We are home all day/night, aka old (retired) farts. My TXU is up for renewal in Dec., so will be shopping around for a better rate.
New unit cycled on and off, albeit the duty cycle (OFF/ON) was 10/90% during the 105-110 days, but the old unit never did turn off until after 10 PM, and the temp last year was considerably lower on the average.Mustangs previously owned:
