I got glasses in second grade. Contacts in ninth. I can't even remember what seeing with my own eyes was like. Gotta be weird being an adult and coming to that realization. My dad didn't have to get them until well into his 30's.

          NERD!!!!

I can't stand wearing my glasses. Makes my nose feel all greasy and my line of sight is restricted. Contacts are the way to go for me. Plus they're cheap as hell.

Same here. Its just a part of life now. I'm not a candidate for the common correction surgeries and refuse to be a guinea pig for the experimental ones.

I knew mine had been getting bad. 6 years (or whatever) ago when I took the DPS test for eyesight, it was barely passing. I had to go in this year, apparently the rows of letters are separated by columns. I got down a few lines and didn't even see the right column at all. l'sigh.

Avatar check. I've been in glasses since I was 5. I want Lasik, can't afford it right now, though.

I wear contacts and never take them out unless one falls out, it's like ghetto Lasik!

This too. Plus I can do more in contacts without having to worry about the glasses falling off, getting mucked up, etc. And I like having my peripheral vision available.

Still can't commit to Lasik, even after hearing all the good things and having two friends be successful with it. I'm paranoid I'd be the 1% that would get jacked up!

Try soft contacts. IMO, contacts are worth it.

I was going to get LASIK. I have astigmatism pretty bad. But I went to one of the LASIK butcher shops around here, that one up in Plano and I read the 20/20 line on their chart. My shit is just blurry but if I focus I can read. And I have halos at night. They told me it wouldn't fix the halos and I am like "Fuck you!". Strange shit for sure.
