Give it a whirl, dumbass. It isn't like a cop that wants to pull you over is going to have a hard time finding a reason.

I have many times. If it is a couple of guys changing the tire I will pull up and turn the over heads on so traffic gets over for them. Heck a couple months ago I got a good laugh as two guys kept jacking the car up, then trying to loosen the lug nuts. Truck fell 2 times off the jack. They were going to do it again when I got out and told them to loosen them before they jack it up. All I got was a " are you crazy look".

The front plate bracket is flimsy and designed to separate in even minor collisions therefore assisting in identifying the offender.
I call BS on that. Most cars these days require the front plate to be screwed straight in to the bumper.

The only "legit" reason I could identify on keeping the front plate was for police to see the plate of an incoming car. As it's been said, that's only for "fishing expeditions" so police can run a plate and see if there's a warrant. When police actually pull someone over for an offense, its the rear plate they use.

What I've found, other than the police lobby, against front plates is 3M. They supply the protective, reflective coating on the plates. So to eliminate the front plate would 1/2 their revenue stream.

FWIW, I don't have a front plate because there's no true place for it other than drilling into my bumper and leaving permanent, gaping holes that would slowly get worn and bigger over time. I've been pulled over twice, but given warnings both times in the 6 years I've owned the car.

dont know if thats true are not but my aunt and uncle were victims of a drunk driver/ hit and run once. they wok up and saw that their truck, boat and car had all been wrecked in their drive way. apparantly someone ran off the road and into their parked cars. they caught the guy cause he fled the scene but his front license was embedded in to the side of the truck

I was pulled over in my Ram because I had my plate in the windshield because I didn't want to put a bracket on the bumper. State trooper spun around and caught up with me and gave me the 3rd degree on why I didn't have it 'displayed.'

I told her it was displayed and pointed at the dash. Long story short, she didn't write me a ticket but yelled at me for about 10 minutes about how it should be on the bumper, how she was right and so forth. That said, I've only had one bad run in with cops and that was last weekend. I was running in the left lane at 9pm on my way back from Walmart with me and the wife and kiddo. Trooper comes from a side street and hits his lights. I pulled immediately over on the left shoulder and looked in my mirror. He almost hit me he was coming up so fast.

After he got out and came to the window, he spent 5 minutes looking at the front of the car and then started berating me about pulling over so rapidly and on the left shoulder (evidently, according to him, the left shoulder doesn't exist.) He said he had to "shut it down at 100mph and" I was "lucky he didn't hit me." So, 25 minutes of him berating me for driving in the left lane, pulling over on the left shoulder and him almost hitting me and talking to me like I'm 12. No ticket though.

I think the wording actually states "License plate must be affixed to the front of the vehicle".

Windshield isn't the front of the vehicle. You could argue it in court, but it's likely not worth the hassle.
