Bingo. My tonsils were removed in the 1st grade after many cases of strep throat and no other treatments working. My wisdom teeth were removed when I was about 20 because I chose to do it after they gave me a problem. My parents didn't have my tonsils removed at birth, yet they thought it was a good idea to chop off part of my dick.

And that's all well and good. But don't try to cite other reasoning behind doing it when there is none. I'm not telling another person that they can't get their child circumcised, I'm simply saying there's no reason in support of circumcision, and that there is evidence to the downsides of it.

If we were in a third world country, the argument for hygiene and access to prophylactics could be raised, and I won't argue. But since we don't live in a third world country, all the reasons justifying circumcision are moot.

Edit: It just really grates on my nerves when I've already been over a topic in a thread and people decide to ignore it, and go over the same thing we've already been over.

All I keep hearing is hygiene. Just how clean do you have to keep an uncircumcised pecker? If I don't clean it for a day or two, or three, what then? I know if I don't clean mine for a week I am not going to have any problems. To me, it sounds like it is the individual who holds the possiblity of infections. Which then again, why risk?

"You guys" are not me. Female mutilation was banned by the US in 1996. I fail to see how circumcision is any different.

This thread is chocked full of ignorance. Like I said earlier, I am uncut and very happy about it. I thank God my parents didnt snip me because it really is genital mutilation. i have never understood why people get infections. I have had my dick for 33 years and have never once had a problem. Every woman i have talked to doesn't care about a flacid man's cock anyway, and when you got a full on, the foreskin goes away. The mentality of "just do your son a favor and cut it" is scary.

We do, but cutting loose skin is a lot more easier to do when you are a baby than procrastinating 10 -20 years later.
