I guess kids playing "cowboys and Indians" would definitely be out of the question then

Are any of you offended at all by this phrase, or is this more mindless liberal bullshit?

FWIW, the correcting party is a gradeschool teacher in San Diego, and she told me that she has her kids say something like "ankles under knees, on your bottom please" instead.

Indian wrestling would also be out. Crisscross wrestling does not compute.

I started saying "Afro engineering" about 18 years ago and my black friends always laugh.

Oddly enough a couple years ago I started hearing others use the same phrase. Made me wonder if I coined it then I realized I am not clever enough for that and prolly stole it from someone else. LOL!

You can also cross your legs when you're sitting on the floor. Bend your knees and tuck your feet under them, and suddenly you're sitting cross-legged on the floor!

The fact that you came up with that rhyme is almost as bad as the original rhyme.

Well, it is a derogatory term and doesn't have the same meaning as "rigging."

I liked when other kids played ninjas vs mexicans. Didn't matter which one of them lost, I always won.

Rigging definition: To make or construct in haste or in a makeshift manner: rig up a tent for the night.

                        He rigged the tent.
He ni66er-rigged the tent. How is that not the same meaning?

Of course it is considered derogatory now. Times have changed in the last 30 years.

they say "criss cross apple sauce" now at burleson schools instead of indian style, but I have always and will always call it indian style.

Maybe it's what is left on the floor after that hippo girl gets up from the floor.
