and the sho comes with a manual trans. no brainer there. the only way to get a bonneville or gtp in manual is to make your own with impossible to find parts.

That may have just knocked the blown GMs out of the running.
An IC is only needed once you want to really start dropping pully sizes and making some HP. After you drop below a 3.3 pulley IMO an IC is needed with the type of heat we have here in Tx. Anything above that an IC is not needed just the other MODs listed for support. I am running non-Iced now in my DD with a 3.25 pulley but I have a cam, intake, exhaust and the setup is in a car that only weighs 3100# with me in it so I can get away with it.

You can pick up a complete full size ZZP IC setup used for $650 or just the core for $350 or so. Then you can piece together the rest which is just the pump, hoses and heat exchanger.

You can go down to a 3.4 pulley with some MODs that can be down for cheap...Gettting a tuner is probally one of the best MODs you can buy...Learning to tune and being able to make changes with the weather goes a long ways....

There is a guy that has already put the F40 6 speed into his GTP a long while back....All parts are off the shelve parts and not hard to find at all...There are several other F40s mounted to L-67s that are in Fieros also.....But I agree the SHO coming stock with a 5 speed is a great thing...

I am leaning twords the SHO now more. Reason why is these back roads. I forgot how well the older Taurus platform handled. They are quite impressive. Plus I can get one in nice shape for $2000 or less.

          I really like this 93 5-speed one.

Now if I could just get the Mark VIII sold.

cant find any pics of my personal car on this PC but this is an exact copy

the single best mod you can do is solid front subframe bushings.

wrecked 6 speed G6's are not sitting around collecting dust. these are incredibly rare cars. There is only one other bolt in trans, the getrag 282. these are also incredibly rare.

I dont want a first gen. Hate the interior and prefer the second gen exterior.

LOL...There is an over stock of F40 6 speed transmissions sitting around...GM produced tons of them thinking the 6 speed G6 was going to be a big hit and it was not...They can be had new for $400 every day of the week from several sources.....There are other tranmsions that can be used also like the F23 5 speed which came in a ton of cars in the 90s.....

This guy has 10 of them for $400 a pop:

An absolutely fun car, too bad it was so poorly executed by Ford and SVT.

I had an SVT Contour. It wasn't maintained by the PO so EVERYTHING was worn out and it had 250k on it. Fun to drive and fairly quick to boot. The back seat is a little small but they are loaded. Put a 04 Taurus 3L in it and boost it. Tons of fun.

The 98's (my year) have a wiring harness issue were the coating crumbles and have less power. The 99 and 2000's are the ones to get as they have 200hp vs the 98's 195hp. For all the info in the world on them go check out contour.org

Yeah I found that website earlier today been browsing around.

Nice to know about the 98's issue. I need to get into a four dour due to my kiddo problem is I really don't want some boring corolla/camry or accord/civic.

Anyone looking for a Mustang or Expedition I have both for sale lol.

Mine stock would jump and out run a buddy's Lexus IS 300 and another non-PI Mustang on a daily basis. I miss mine but it had too many issues.

Sweet a Lexus IS300 was another car I was considering but I just don't want to spend the coin on one.

I must say after seeing some video's of SVTC's that is one mean sounding v6 and IMO it looks pretty good too. I just hope I can find a decent one for a good price.
