Trade schools are great, but only for plumbing and electrical.

You decent at math? Find a good E&I school. I know a few people with those degrees making a great living in NG. I know another guy with a job at a refinery knocking down high twenties a hour to look at gauges in the AC, and the bene's kick ass. It is a 2 year program. Had a bud who worked offshore with a E&I degree that was making 6 figures.

not everyone can afford to be a professional student at Baylor.

That being said, I have actually seen a couple bank branch managers and someone at my hospital in HR with degrees from University of Phoenix. While it is not a traditional school, their degrees are accepted in places.


Now to the subject of a trade/vocational school... I tend to think that they are not a good idea. The education is VERY expensive and doesnt leave many options. LVN school is a decent idea but honestly you wont go far with just an LVN license. Nursing is a great career and can be done in 2.5 years.

Sadly that is true. My family has done really well in the business, but we are one of the few funeral homes in the area that doesn't demand payment up front and works with families budgets/payment plans.
